During this academic year, the research project made significant strides in both theoretical development and empirical contextualization. The primary objective was to establish a robust framework for understanding how Chinese independent schools manage their stigmatized identities within complex socio-political environments. Progress was achieved in three key areas: literature review consolidation, historical contextualization, and academic dissemination.1. Literature Review A major milestone this year was the drafting of a comprehensive literature review manuscript focused on "organizational stigma response strategies." This manuscript synthesizes existing management and organizational theories to categorize how entities navigate negative social evaluations. By nearly completing this manuscript, I have established the theoretical lens necessary to analyze the specific strategic responses employed by Chinese independent high schools in Malaysia.2. To ground the theoretical framework in empirical reality, I conducted an in-depth study of the history of the Malaysian Chinese community and the evolution of Chinese independent schools. This research focused on the racial and political dynamics of Malaysia, examining how state narratives (as Majority) have historically marginalized vernacular education (as Minority). This phase involved a rigorous review of archival data to reconstruct the historical trajectory of these schools.3. Crucially, the research methodology extended beyond archival analysis to include active engagement with regional experts. During the conference "Unfamiliar Neighbours: Empowering Minority Heritage in East Asian Port Cities," I facilitated critical discussions with a Malaysian Chinese historian and a Singaporean Malay historian. These dialogues provided invaluable multi-ethnic perspectives on the historical positioning of Chinese education in the region, validating and enriching my archival findings.As a tangible outcome of this period, I presented my current findings on the societal perception and historical status of Chinese independent schools at the aforementioned conference. This presentation allowed for the dissemination of preliminary results and the acquisition of feedback from the academic community.

本年度に、組織外部環境の複雑性が組織のビジネスモデルを含む戦略的選択に与える影響について調査を行っていました。まず、データ分析と機械学習のためのさまざまなデータセットを提供する有名なオンラインコミュニティであるKaggle.comから「Anime Recommendation Database 2020」というデータセットを取得しました。このデータセットはユーザーによって提供され、myanimelist.netというアニメおよびマンガのファンコミュニティから収集されたものです。このデータセットには、各アニメのタイトルやID番号やユーザーレーティングスコアなどこの研究に関連する重要な要素が含まれています。本研究の独立変数として扱う一つ重要な要素である組織外部環境の複雑性を作るために、このデータセットにあるスタジオおよびテレビ局がキーソースとなっています。このデータセットにより、アニメプロジェクトの参加者を特定しました。次に、各アニメがどのようなビジネスモデルを採用したのを特定するために、筆者および協力者の二人と各アニメの著作権所有者を一個ずつ検索してリスティングしました。収集の手順として、まず、日本のアニメデータベースであるanimedb.comで各アニメを検索してみました。詳細がanimedb.comに存在しない場合には、特定のアニメやそのスタジオの公式ウェブサイトから追加情報が取得されました。特定のアニメのホームページがもはやアクセスできず、スタジオが活動を停止している場合、データはウェブアーカイブサービス（web.archive.org）を通じて取得されました。以上の方法から収集したデータを解析して論文形式にしました。その論文をAcademy of Managementの年次大会に投稿しました。また3月に、追加した分析を日本の組織学会の研究発表大会に応募する予定です。
