    Purpose: In this paper, we propose a method to classify and detect normal, known anomalies, and unknown anomalies by combining the expectation–maximisation (EM-λ) algorithm and the Mahalanobis–Taguchi (MT) method.Methodology/Approach: The proposed method learns normal data that are expected to be homogeneous and known abnormal data and performs classification and detection by parameter estimation using the EM-λ algorithm. Conventional methods perform analysis based on parameter estimation using the EM algorithm. However, the EM algorithm can degrade classification accuracy if it does not assume that the data fits the model's generative process.Findings: We verify the performance of the proposed method using artificially generated data and real-world bean data for classification as data that do not satisfy this assumption. The validation results show up to 6% improvement over the conventional method in classification accuracy and unknown anomaly discrimination accuracy.Research Limitation/implication: We try various patterns for the parameter of the proposed method in the verification. However, this way is computationally expensive.Originality/Value of paper: Conventional methods perform analysis based on parameter estimation using the EM algorithm. Our proposal method seeks to improve accuracy by using the EM-λ algorithm for parameter estimation, which is expected to improve classification accuracy when the data do not conform to the generative assumptions of the EM algorithm's model.

    Personnel-adjusted added value (PAV) is an index to measure human resource management for internal purposes. In this study, the possibilities and limitations of PAV using external estimates are investigated. To measure the effectiveness of PAV, it is compared with the general added value. This proves the effect of the personnel adjustment. The relationship between future performance and PAV (and added value), including other control variables, are statistically analysed by hierarchical linear modelling. The essence of PAV is to separate the basic labour costs from the company-specific personnel costs. To calculate PAV from outside an enterprise, the basic labour costs should be estimated. For this purpose, in addition to financial data, this study uses survey data on recruitment and employment in Japan. Statistical analysis is applied to the 2008-2016 longitudinal company data of 569 Japanese companies. We find that PAV, a management indicator that includes the adequacy of human resource management, is a useful factor related to future performance.

    The purpose of this study is to propose models and indicator that help decision-making and management of human capital. By modeling the influence relationships between the working system measures of a company, it was clarified what kind of measures are adopted and in what order is related to the improvement of human capital. Furthermore, by conducting an online questionnaire survey and analyzing it, we demonstrated the factors that affect employee satisfaction in the working system measures.

    昨今,企業収益の源泉は,有形資産から無形資産に移り変わっている.無形資産の中でも,AIや労働生産性などの観点から人的資産とそのマネジメントが特に注目を集めている.本研究は,企業データに対し統計分析を行うことで企業経営者による人的資産マネジメント戦略意思決定の一助となるモデルや知見を得る.本研究は2編からなる.
    1:人的資産マネジメント評価指標の効果検証
    指標効果検証は,人的資産マネジメントを含めた評価指標を提案し,提案指標と将来業績との関連性を示すことで,内部マネジメントにおいて提案指標を用いる有効性の検証を行う研究である.同一対象企業の複数年データを一度に用い分析を行った.これにより,単年データでは検証できなかった,企業内の影響と企業間の影響を同時に分析した.分析結果は,提案指標が将来利益と高い関連性があることを示し,提案手法の有効性を示唆した.
    2:人的資産と企業業績の影響関係検証
    影響関係の検証は,人的資産によって他のどのような要素が変化し,企業業績へと影響を与えるかを検証する研究として計画した.本研究では,ベイジアン構造方程式モデリングを用いた.まず,人的資産・企業の社会的責任活動・品質管理・企業業績・ステークホルダー評価の関係性検証を行った.多くの要素を扱うことで複雑な影響関係を明らかにした.次に,人的資産・企業の社会的責任活動・業績に絞り,それぞれの定義や関係性についてより詳細かつ,要素間の影響関係を解釈しやすいモデルとした.それぞれの要素を構成する項目については,ベイジアン構造方程式モデリングの特徴の1つである,間隔尺度を扱うことが出来る点を活かし従来よりも客観的な指標を用いた.

    Quality management (QM), Human capital management (HCM) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fields are closely related. Traditionally QM has been captured in the relationship between companies and customers. However, corporate sustainability is believed to depend on not only customers but also on various company stakeholders. In addition, QM is expected to widely affect its customer effect and the various stakeholder evaluations. CSR has been captured in the relationship between companies and stakeholders. However, Strategic CSR concept is underway. Strategic CSR is a corporate strategy concept of selecting CSR activities according to whether they have a positive impact on corporate performance. Employees who make quality improvements by themselves, are indispensable to increase the effectiveness of QM. Human capital is thought to be one of the most important factors for the success of CSR activities. A lot of previous researches have analyzed on a psychometric basis. However, the approach has problems, such that the psychological influence and actual influence may differ. Therefore, this research analyzes the data from the CSR data book and financial reports which are based on the fact basis by using Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling. It demonstrates the impact of each factor more objectively. Analysis showed how each factor affects each other. Particularly, this study suggests that environmental CSR has a positive impact on corporate performance.

  • A quantitative approach to HCM using PAV: Method and robustness

    This study focuses on Human Capital Management (HCM). It provides Added value (AV) indicator considering HCM, tools to utilize them and also verify robustness of the tools. The aim of this study is to provide a quantitative technique for managers to make decisions by objectively evaluating HCM as well as projecting profit increase, which is generated by HCM. AV has been often used as a value measurement. However, profit structure supported by tangible assets has been changed to be supported by intangible assets in recent years. It is necessary to redefine AV for considering influence of intangible assets. Therefore, this study provides Personnel adjusted AV (PAV); AV indicator considering HCM. It also creates tools to utilize them using statistical methods. Then, verify the robustness of the tools. In the process of verifying robustness, this study extracts particular indices. It is possible to obtain suggestions for social issue from particular indices.

Internal Special Research Projects

  • 欠損値補完手法を用いた異常検知手法に関する研究

    近年,さまざまなデータ取得が容易になるにつれ,大量のデータに含まれる異常サンプルを自動的に検出する異常検知の重要性が高まっている.マハラノビス・タグチ(MT)法は,パターン認識や異常検出などの問題に対する多変量解析法であり,データ群から異常値を検出する.大量取得したデータの中に不適切な解答が紛れてしまうという課題を抱えるアンケート調査も異常検知が重要な分野である.しかし,アンケート調査などでよく用いられる順序尺度データでは,MT法の異常検出精度が低下することが指摘されている.そこで,順序尺度データに対し,MT法を利用した異常検知手法を提案した.提案手法は,順序尺度の背景に連続分布を仮定し,順序尺度を欠損データの一種とみなし.欠損値の補完後に異常検出を行う.人工データを用いたシミュレーションにより,提案手法の検出精度は,順序尺度の中心付近の回答が多いという限られた環境ではあるが,単位空間が異常データで汚染されているか否かに関わらず,MT法を上回ることを示した.手法提案と実証結果などの研究成果は,国際会議21th Asian network for quality congress 2023にて報告した.予定していた研究に加え,異常検知後に使用する手法として有効なData Envelopment Analysis (DEA)の改善目標の検証を行った.DEAは複数の入力と出力を持つ意思決定単位(DMU)の相対効率を評価する数理計画法であり,指標の単位を勘案せずに分析が可能なため経営分野において良く用いられている.しかし,相対効率を測定するため,異常サンプルの影響を受けやすいという問題がある.そのため,異常検知後のデータに手法を適用するのが望ましい.DEAには代表的な効率値の測定・改善目標の設定法として,加算法と最短距離法がある.この2法を日本の小売企業86社からなる時系列データセットに対して用いることで,手法による改善目標の違いを検証した.結果として,最短距離法の改善目標が非効率なDMUの改善目標において優位であることを示した.研究成果は,国際会議IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering andEngineering Management 2023にて報告した.

    本研究は,経営者の人的資産マネジメント戦略意思決定の一助となることを目指し,人的資産向上を促す施策の影響関係を明らかにすることを計画していた.しかし,実際に研究を進めるうち,満足度や施策の影響関係が企業業績に与える影響より,人的資産が企業業績に与える影響の定量化の方がより,目的に対する貢献度が高いと考え,研究計画を変更した.結果として,知的資産分野の先行研究であるPulic (2000)が提案しているVAICという,企業知的資産効率の評価指標を人的資産の効率をより含む形へと拡張した指標を提案し,日本の上場企業業績パネルデータを用いた解析により,提案指標の有効性検証を行った.研究成果は国際学会APEMS 2022にて発表した.
