    Abstract

    In this research, Net‐Zero Energy Houses (ZEHs) is investigated that harness regionally produced electricity from photovoltaic (PV) panels and fuel cells, integrating them into a local power system in pursuit of achieving carbon neutrality. This article examines the impact of electricity sharing among users who are working towards attaining ZEH status through the integration of PV panels and battery storage devices. Two potential scenarios are proposed: the first assumes that all users individually invest in storage devices, hence minimizing their costs on a local level without energy sharing; the second envisions cost minimization through the collective use of a shared storage device, managed by a central manager. These two scenarios are formulated as a stochastic convex optimization and a cooperative game, respectively. To tackle the stochastic challenges posed by multiple random variables, the Monte Carlo sample average approximation (SAA) is applied to obtain solvable deterministic convex problems. Last, to demonstrate the practical applicability of these models, the proposed scenarios are implemented in the Jono neighborhood in Kitakyushu, Japan.

    This paper investigates a smart lane-change mechanism of automated vehicles with intelligent driver model on highways with multiple lanes. In particular, we propose an autonomous lane-change maneuver to improve traffic flow. The key technique of the proposed maneuver is to consider not only selfish conditions to track individual velocity tracking performance but also altruistic conditions to improve the driving performance of the succeeding vehicles by using vehicle-to-vehicle communications. To realize the conditions, this paper presents cost functions and criteria mathematically. We also demonstrate through simulation that the proposed algorithm enhances heterogeneous traffic flow efficiency while avoiding collisions and wasteful traffic congestion in dense traffic. As a result, each vehicle with the proposed maneuver can travel about 1 minute per 10 km faster than only the conventionally selfish condition on average.

  • A dynamic contract mechanism for risk-sharing management on interdependent electric power and gas supply networks

    This paper considers interdependent electric power and gas supply networks and investigates a dynamic contract mechanism between risk-averse prosumers and a risk-neutral aggregator. The aggregator tries to manage not only financial risks but also power energy and gas energy generated by the prosumers in the presence of uncertain and volatile risk of energy generation processes. The aggregator will determine an incentive condition required of the prosumers so as to indirectly control their actions preferable for the aggregator. We first formulate a novel dynamic contract problem, where each prosumer minimizes an exponential-type cost functional with risk aversion under energy dynamical systems. The problem is regarded as a principal-agent problem in contract theory and the prosumers' optimization problem can be reduced to a Linear Exponential Quadratic Gaussian dynamic game problem. Most part of the solution to the problem considered here can be obtained analytically, while we need to employ a numerical optimization technique to determine the aggregator's action. The effectiveness of the risk-sharing between aggregator and prosumers induced by the proposed mechanism is demonstrated through a simulation.

    This paper proposes a novel load frequency control architecture based on differential games in energy supply-demand network integrating power networks and real-time electricity regulation markets. In order to establish the control architecture that each area minimizes his own cost independently on not only the electricity market layer but also the physical layer, we first present a novel load frequency control in power networks, where set-point signals from electricity markets depend on competitive bidding among utilities in each area and they are regarded as stationary disturbances in power networks. Then, we show that the control problem can be reduced to a finite-horizon differential game and the solution of the differential game control problem is analytically given by a feedback Nash equilibrium. The effectiveness of the proposed control mechanism is finally demonstrated through simulations with two-area power and electricity market network model.

    This paper addresses cooperative environmental monitoring for Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) visual sensor networks. In particular, we investigate the optimal monitoring problem whose objective function value is intertwined with the uncertain state of the physical world. In addition, due to the large volume of vision data, it is desired for each sensor to execute processing through local computation and communication. To address these issues, we present a distributed solution to the problem based on game theoretic cooperative control and payoff-based learning. At the first stage, a utility function is designed so that the resulting game constitutes a potential game with potential function equal to the group objective function, where the designed utility is shown to be computable through local image processing and communication. Then, we present a payoff-based learning algorithm so that the sensors are led to the global objective function maximizers without using any prior information on the environmental state. Finally, we run experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the present approach.

    In this paper, we investigate cooperative environmental monitoring for Pan-Tilt-Zoom(PTZ) visual sensor networks based on game theoretic cooperative control. In particular, we focus on one of the key goals of the monitoring task, i.e. monitoring environmental changes from a normal state. For this purpose, this paper first presents a novel formulation of the optimal environmental monitoring problem reflecting the above objective and characteristics of vision sensors. Then, the optimization problem is reduced to a potential game with potential function equal to the formulated objective function through an existing utility design technique, where the designed utility is shown to be computable through local computation and communication. We finally present a payoff-based learning algorithm, which refines [18] so that the sensors eventually take the potential function maximizes with high probability and local action constraints are dealt with. Finally, we run experiments on a testbed in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented approach. © 2013 IEEE.

    In this paper, we investigate the game theoretic coverage control whose objective is to lead agents to optimal configurations over a mission space. In particular, the objective of this paper is to achieve the control objective (i) in the absense of the perfect prior knowledge on importance of each point and (ii) in the presence of the action constraints. For this purpose, we first formulate coverage problems with two different global objective functions as so-called potential games. Then, we present a payoff-based learning algorithm determining actions based only on the past actual outcomes. The feature of the present algorithm is to allow an agent to take an irrational action. We also clarify a relation between a design parameter of the algorithm and theprobability which agents take the optimal actions and prove that the probability can be arbitrarily increased. Then, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the present algorithm through experiments on a testbed.

    This research project aims at developing fundamental technologies for next-generation urban infrastructure systems. This project has developed a new dynamic incentive mechanism merging contract theory, optimal control theory and game theory to lead the individually optimal state into a global optimizer. Moreover, the proposed mechanism is applied to the optimal design for the strategic bidding problem of the agents' private model information under moral hazard. The effectiveness of the proposed mechanism is also demonstrated via simulations on dynamic power networks and traffic systems.

    本研究では多種多様な目的・意思や資財を持つエージェント間で経済的・物理的に公平なエネルギー授受を実現する分散協調型エネルギー管理システム構築を目的とする.この目的を実現するために,本年度は大きく分けて次の2つの研究を実施した.
    1. マルチタイムスケールにおけるゲーム理論的学習手法提案と数値検証.電力システムへ応用する際には,各タイムスケールで各エージェントに運用状態決定の権利を与える構造を実現する必要がある.本年度では,まず機器のダイナミクスを考慮した多地域電力網システムの実時間制御を対象に,負荷周波数制御器設計において物理的運用コストに関する評価関数をエージェント毎に最適化する問題を定式化した.この問題は有限時間微分ゲームの解として解析的に導出できることを示し,数値シミュレーションを通して提案手法の有効性と階層構造の影響を検証した.つぎに,物理モデルや意思決定モデルを共有できない電力スポット・先物併合市場において,各電力供給家戦略の学習を解析した.特に,従来研究では扱われていない均衡解に至るまでの学習過程に注目し,数値シミュレーションを通した現象解析を行った.
    2. 契約理論に基づく新たな基盤理論創出.実運用上の観点から従来のモデルベース電力市場設計理論をより一般化した枠組みが必要である.本年度では,経済分野で研究されている契約理論をシステム制御分野の知見を基に再解釈し,各エージェントが入力をもつ物理ダイナミクス制約を考慮した新たなエネルギー管理システムを提案した.契約構造の分析だけでなく,最適な契約を導出する統合に関する理論的手法まで提案した点は学術的新規性を持つ.さらに,従来検討されてきたリスク中立型評価関数の場合だけでなく,新たにリスク回避型の場合での定式化にも成功し,意思決定者の行動原理を表す数理モデルの範囲が拡充された点は実用面で意義高い.

  • 人と複数ロボット群の実時間共創システムのための制御系設計

    本研究では、人と複数ロボット群の協調制御を行うための制御系設計について2つの研究手法で分析した。1つ目は、ヘッドマウントディスプレイを装着したリアル空間の一人が、バーチャルリアリティ環境内で広域の協調運動するドローン群を誘導する協調制御の性能改善を行う。具体的には、認知科学で研究が進められているRedirected Walking技術を用いた運動錯覚技術を用いて、人の回転移動量の低減と共にロボット群の速度制御の時間遷移の変化量抑制する方法を提案した。高精細な都市モデルを再現できるUnreal Engine 4を用いた実時間制御を可能とする実験環境を構築し、提案手法の精度検証を行った。2つ目はネットワーク化されたロボット群の操縦者が複数存在する場合、全体目的実現の阻害要因として操縦者間の相互干渉が存在する。この課題解決にあたり、経済学で進められているメカニズムデザイン・契約理論が動的システムの制御系設計に応用できることを提案した。提案手法は操縦者の意思決定の自由度が担保される一方で、全体目的を実現できない個人最適化の行動を選択すると間接的損失を被ることが理論的に保障されている。また、数値シミュレーションにより提案手法の有効性について検証を行った。

  • 次世代都市交通システム構築に向けた動的インセンティブ設計・制御法と検証実験

    本研究では次世代交通システムの最適均衡を実現するための2つの理論成果を示した。一つ目は配車サービスの経路選択最適化による交通流適正化である。交通流モデルを表現する非線形偏微分方程式に対する最適制御問題に対して、経路積分制御とモンテカルロ法を適用することで実時間最適配分を可能とした。また、確率的な流入車両と動特性の存在下でのWardrop均衡との関連を数値例により分析した。二つ目は分権化を担保する動的線形制御システムの最適制御を実現するためのメカニズムである。契約理論に基づく最適インセンティブ設計を理論的に明らかにした。また、上記の研究成果を研究室規模での実験検証するための環境整備を行った。

  • 契約理論に基づくインセティブ設計とエージェント群の戦略的行動に対する影響解析

    本研究では、エージェント群の戦略的行動がシステム全体に与える影響とその改善方策に関して2つの研究手法で分析した。1つ目は動的線形制御システムに契約理論を導入する枠組みを提案した。提案するインセンティブ設計法はエージェントの最適行動(制御入力)の耐戦略性の保証を与えるが、正確な私的モデル情報の事前提出を前提とする。そこで、エージェント群がモデル情報の戦略的提供した場合の社会システム全体への悪影響を理論と数値例の両面で分析した。2つ目は強化学習に基づく戦略的行動に着目し、約定市場価格とその時得られる余剰だけでなく、追加の情報インセンティブを付与したときのエージェントの行動変容を定量的に分析した。
