Profile
Tetsuya Yaguchi has 20 years of professional experience as an architect/ urban designer working on a wide range of projects for private and public clients. He has project experience in the United States, Asia, and Middle East countries. Mr. Yaguchi’s work includes large-scale land planning, urban and waterfront planning, downtown revitalization, campus planning and design, regional land use planning and site-specific design for urban streets, plazas, parks, and housing.
Mr. Yaguchi currently holds an academic position at Waseda University and conduct theoretical research and urban design exercises that focus on sustaining and enhancing built environment through understanding physical, social, ecological and technological underlying system of the cities as a whole.
Mr. Yaguchi is a registered architect in Japan and California.

    本研究は、ユニバーサルデザイン化が進む米国の高等教育機関のキャンパスの調査を行い、物理的環境の整備と合わせ40年間にわたり培われてきたキャンパスデザインプロセスへの障害を持つ学生の設計参加の手法とその効果、障害をもつ学生への支援制度や組織・運営の方法を明らかにすることを目的とした。　障害者学生受け入れに積極的、かつ大学のユニバーサル化により積極的な高等教育機関として、米国の３大学を選び調査対象とし、ウエブサイトで公開されているマスタープランの調査、キャンパス施設担当者への電話・Ｅ－ｍａｉｌインタビューにより、ユニバーサル化の取り組みを時系列に整理しその実施プロセスを明らかにした。物理的な環境、情報支援、制度作り、組織・運営については、障害学生受け入れ担当者、施設管理者、利用者や設計者へのアンケート、インタビューなどの現地調査を実施している。

    本研究は、地域主体で取り組む、インクルーシブな学校づくりの先進的事例を調査対象とし、ステークホルダーとして運営者、利用者、教員、保護者、卒業生、地域住民へのインタビューを行った。インタビューでの発話をM-GTA手法を用いて分析し、現在の制度上で可能なインクルーシブ教育の在り方とその限界、そして通常行われている分離教育から理想的なインクルーシブ教育へと転換する際の障害を明らかにした。本研究成果が、理想的なインクルーシブ教育環境象実現に向けた一助となることを期待する。
