    <p> The Japanese Literature Department introduced its "Basic Seminar I" for first-year students as part of the new curriculum, which launched with the 2014 academic year. The goal of this course is primarily to provide students with the foundation necessary for their training, including research and presentation skills, as a way of facilitating their entry into university-level studies. In order to achieve that goal, the instructing faculty members established six topics to be covered during the course, and then worked together to develop the necessary teaching materials.</p><p> In Japan today, society is directing increased scrutiny at the significance and efficacy of a university education. This experiment by the Japanese Literature Department has become an opportunity for faculty themselves to reconceive of the form that Humanities should take, rather than being a superficial attempt to meet the demands of the neoliberal marketplace.</p>

    At one of the high schools affiliated to Chuo University, where I used to teach, there is a unique program of kokugo teaching based on close reading, repeated reading, and presentation. In this program, teachers do their work not individually but as a team so that they can more systematically take care of students through dialogue and negotiations. According to the reform plan by the Education Ministry, however, kokugo teachers are required to train students exclusively for the practical use of language. As obviously the ministry&#039;s method prevents their spontaneity and imagination from developing, it will just create those who are uncritical and docile like sheep.

    2021年度は「研究の離陸期」と位置づけ、以下の活動を行った。
    （1）研究資料の集積と分析。新型コロナウイルス禍の影響で、歴史資料館や文学館等に所蔵されている一次資料の調査は十分に進められなかったが、1944年～1945年の日本敗戦直前期の新聞・雑誌言説資料を集中的に収集・整理した他、敗戦後に公刊された日記・回想記の分析を継続的に行うことで、2022年度以降の研究の土台作りを行った。
    （2）「敗北」の受容にかんする多角的検討。1945年の日本敗戦の社会的受容を複数の視座から検証するために、近代以降の「敗戦国」の政治史・社会史・思想史にかかわる文献を集積し、精査した。また、日中戦争・アジア太平洋戦争後の東アジアにおける脱植民地化と国際秩序の再編を視野から取り落とさないために、いわゆる「引き揚げ」にかかるテクストも含め、1945年～1950年の朝鮮・台湾・中国を舞台として取り上げた文学テクストを積極的に収集し、日本列島の経験との差異を考究した。
    （3）研究成果の報告。（1）で行った調査をもとに、アジア太平洋戦争末期の日本社会が来たるべき「敗北」をどのように想像・表象したかをめぐって、研究分担者として参加している科研費プロジェクトの合同研究集会にて研究報告を行った。また、日中戦争期の従軍記の表象の分析から、日中戦争・アジア太平洋戦争期の他者表象が現在の日本社会におけるレイシズムの言説と連続的であることについて、問題提起を行った。

    コロナ感染がまだ収まらない本年度では、本研究のメンバーたちがそれぞれ自分の判断により、地方に出張して資料調査を行ったか、あるいは居住している本拠地で研究を展開した。調査した新しい資料による業績を発表した人もいた。また研究グループ全員が参加する研究会は昨年度と同じく、下記の通り、zoomで三回開催した。
    （1）2021年6月20日 韓国映画研究所代表韓相言氏（ハン・サンオン）による講演「朝ソ文化協会の主要刊行物ー解放直後・北朝鮮の文化状況と映画」を行い、参加者は研究メンバーを含めて全部で40名ほど。（2）2021年8月29日 北京外国語大学教授秦剛氏による講演「戦時上海における日本の映画工作ー光明影業公司『茶花女』をめぐる映画史の内幕」を行い、メンバー全員が参加した。（3）2021年11月28日 ロシア国立研究大学高等経済学院東洋学・西洋古典学研究所准教授フィオードロワ・アナスタシア氏による講演「Dirty and Clean ソビエト・ロシアにおける日本映画の受容（1923ー1963）」を行い、メンバー全員が参加した。
    上記の定例研究会を踏まえて、年度末に「日本近現代文学研究におけるメロドラマ的想像力に関する多角的研究」（研究科研費基盤C 代表者：木戸雄一）とオンライン研究集会「〈国民〉を縫い直す 貫戦期におけるメロドラマ的想像力の歴史的位相」を2022年3月20日に共催した。本科研から張新民、五味渕典嗣とアンニはそれぞれ貫戦期における映画を対象にメロドラマ的想像力がいかに戦時と戦後の作品に投影されており、また歴史的文脈の変化によって、メロドラマの形式がどんな変容を遂げたのかと考察した。この研究会は両グループのメンバー以外に60名ほどの聴衆を集めることがてき、広く社会に向けて発信した。
    また国立映画アーカイブでの研究映写会は2021年9月16日と2022年1月6日に二回開催し、映画を七本鑑賞した。

    In this study, we examined the production, distribution, and reception of modern and contemporary Japanese literature from the viewpoint of melodramatic imagination. We have shown that the stories of popular melodramas represent conflicts with the social and moral norms of each era. We also discussed the fact that people who receive melodramas understand their reality by quoting freely from the story. In addition, when editing magazines, there were cases where 'melodramatic imagination' was used as a concept to control the entire work.

    In this research, we studied literature in general (Activity / Phenomena) in various colorful and complicated Showa era featuring <Globalization>. Through multilateral and comprehensive approach by 6 members and 4 research units, we have accumulated investigation, analysis and consideration about literature of the Showa era 10 years and clarified the concrete aspect and problem. In this research, in accordance with the concept of "Globalization", the viewpoints lacking in previous research - the trends of international politics, diplomacy and economy and the exchange of culture, people and things with foreign countries - were incorporated. In addition, literary genres that have not received attention - such as popular literature and colonial literature - were also actively targeted for research. Also, with reference to the research results of adjacent areas, we clarified issues peculiar to the literature field while securing an interdisciplinary viewpoint.

    11 Co-investigators and 42 Research Collaborators from Japan, Korea and the United States participated in this project. We held many events over the course of three years. An international symposium entitled “Colonial Korean Literature and Culture in Japanese Discursive Space” was held for three consecutive years at Musashi University in 2013, at the University of Niigata Prefecture in 2014 and at Fukuoka University in 2015. Each time, about 40 researchers participated and debated actively. In March 2015, an international workshop entitled “Empire and Language: Translingual Inter-Asia” was co-hosted with Duke University at Duke-Kunshan University in China. In October, an international symposium called “Im-hwa and Proletarian Literature in Korea During the Colonial Period” was held in Tokyo in cooperation with the Im-hwa Association of Korea. In addition, three lectures by American researchers and a lecture by a Korean researcher were hosted

    本課題の最終年度である平成19年度は、前年度からひきつづいて研究環境の整備を図る他、具体的な成果の公表を見据え、積極的に資料の集積を行い、特に台湾で発行されていた日本語週刊新聞の記事分析・データベース化を進めた。平成19年8月には、植民地期台湾の日本語文学を専攻する和泉司氏(慶應義塾大学日本語・日本文化教育センター非常勤講師)を研究協力者として委嘱、台湾・台北に出張し、国立中央図書館台湾分館・国立台湾大学図書館での調査を行い、資料の補足と週刊新聞の紙面分析に必要な情報収集につとめた。その成果は、「対抗的公共圏の言説編制-『新高新報』日文欄をめぐって-」(『大妻女子大学紀要-文系-』40号)にとりまとめた。また、本課題で集積した資料体のうち、1920年代〜30年代の新聞学・広告論にかかわるものは、関連する研究課題である「改造社を中心とする20世紀日本のジャーナリズムと知的言説をめぐる総合的研究」(基盤研究(C)、課題番号17520126、研究代表者:松村友視慶應義塾大学教授)における研究の相互乗り入れ的な進展にも、積極的に活用した。
    この他、植民地時代の朝鮮半島で発刊されていた日本語逐次刊行物について、大妻女子大学文学部草稿・テキスト研究所の調査研究費を活用し、韓国・ソウル市に出張、ソウル大学中央図書館での調査を行った(平成20年2月)。当時の半島各地に存在していた新聞の所蔵状況についてはいまだ明確な成果は出ていないが、1930年前後の朝鮮・満州で発行されていた逐次刊行物にかかわる二次的な資料を研究資料として収集することができた。東京を中心とする情報ネットワークとは異なる、旧植民地地域独自の日本語言説の生産・流通・受容のサイクルを考えるうえで、今後、さらなる発展的な研究に向けた重要な足がかりを作ることができたと考えている。

  • 現代日本の戦争表現に関する研究基盤の構築

    　本研究では、主に2000年代以降の日本で発表された戦争表現の特質と問題点を明らかにすることを目指し、以下の研究活動を行った。（1）2001年の米国同時多発テロ事件以後の日本文学・映画における戦争表象について、リービ英雄、岡田利規、目取真俊、伊藤計劃らのテクストを取り上げ検討した。また、過去の日本の戦争記憶、とりわけ帝国と植民地の問題がどのような形で召喚され、物語化されたかについて調査と分析を行った。関連して、2015年の「戦後70年」のタイミングでリメイクされた原田眞人監督の映画『日本のいちばん長い日』を取り上げ、この作が1990年代以降の天皇制研究の進展を取り込む一方で、昭和天皇の「聖断」を戦後日本の起源と位置づけるナショナルな神話を積極的に上書きしている様相について論文を執筆、学内紀要に投稿した。（2）現代日本における歴史実践の現場に赴き、フィールド調査を行った。10月には北海道旭川市、2月には沖縄県宜野湾市・糸満市を訪れ、北鎮記念館・旭川兵村記念館（旭川市）、佐喜眞美術館（宜野湾市）、沖縄平和祈念資料館（糸満市）等で、思想的政治的には立場の異なる各施設が過去の日本の戦争・戦場をどのように語り、どんなスタイルで現在のオーディエンスとの接触と交渉を企てているかを確認した。また、それらの施設付近に設置されたモニュメントが喚起するイメージの政治について調査と検討を行った。（3）関心を同じくする研究者と議論を重ね、現代日本における戦争の語りが戦時・戦後をまたぐ日本社会の歴史意識の切断と密接に関係していること、また、文学・絵画・写真などの表現媒体を跨ぐかたちで、こうした切断と批判的に対峙している表現者の仕事に重要な問題提起が内包されていることを確認した。今後さらに議論を深化させ、2024年度の科研費申請に備える予定である。

  • 戦争と情動――戦後日本文化と大量死の表象

    　本研究では、主に「情動」という観点から、戦後日本文学・日本映画における「戦争」の描き方を再検討することを目標とした。とくに、（１）戦後日本において日本の「敗北」がどう語られたかに注目、「先の大戦」における敗北を語る語りが、一方で植民地帝国としての近代日本の歴史を総体として救抜し、「過去」としての戦前を懐旧的に想起する語りの基盤ともなっていたことを明らかにした。　また、（２）戦後における戦場体験者の「沈黙」について、いわゆる「第二世代」のテクストに注目、戦争の暴力を抱え込み続けていた親たちを見つめる子どもたちの記憶を「もう一つの戦争記憶」として捉え返す可能性について検討した。
