  • クラス集団を活用した児童生徒の個に応じた認知行動療法的ストレスマネジメントの確立

    本研究は、ストレスマネジメントプログラムを学校のクラス集団をベースとして実施するにあたり、児童生徒の認知行動的な個人差に応じたプログラムを実践する際の環境要因としての「クラス集団」を最大限に活用する方法論を構築、体系化することを目的としている。令和元年度は、その一環として、認知行動療法に分類され、児童生徒の問題解決能力を高めることが可能であるとされる問題解決訓練を取り上げ、価値の明確化の程度の個人差が問題行動の改善(攻撃行動の低減)に及ぼす影響を検討することを目的とした。公立および私立の小中学校に在籍する小学生186名、中学生189名を対象として、問題解決訓練のみを行う標準群と、価値の明確化の手続きを加えた問題解決訓練を行う介入群の2群にクラス単位で振り分けて介入を実施した。その結果、小学生においては、介入群の価値の明確化の程度を高める手続きに効果が見られず、群にかかわらず攻撃行動が低減したことが示された。また、コーピングレパートリーは両群ともに変化が見られなかった。中学生においては、介入群の価値の明確化の程度は高まったものの、両群ともに攻撃行動が低減し,両群にはその程度の差がないことが示された。また、コーピングレパートリーは群にかかわらず増加したことが示された。これらの結果から、児童生徒の攻撃行動の低減に対しては、価値の明確化の手続きは必ずしも有効ではなく、これまで通りの手続きを用いて体験的理解を促すことの方が重要であることが示唆された。また、小学生においては、心理的ストレスに対する理解をすることが攻撃行動の低減に有効である可能性がある一方で、中学生においては、コーピングレパートリーが増えることが有効である可能性が示唆された。令和元年度は、当初計画よりも小規模になってしまったが、実験的介入データに関しては収集することができた。他のデータに関しては、研究協力校の都合で、実験的介入の時期が1月以降になってしまい、さらに、新型コロナウイルスの影響で小中学校が休校になってしまい、データ収集そのものができなくなってしまった状況である。令和元年度に実施したストレスマネジメント実践介入のデータに基づいて、研究成果等の発表を行うこととする。また、これまでに収集したデータに基づきながら、適切な児童生徒の個人差変数を検討、設定し、それらを考慮したストレスマネジメントプログラムの体系化を行うことを試みることとする

    The present study examined measures to assess variables that moderate the effects of a classroom-based cognitive behavioral therapy-based stress management program for children and adolescents. For this purpose, the effects of a stress management program that consisted of specific stress-inducing scenarios was examined. Results showed that changes in context-matching values and attentional bias toward rewards, and anger-inducing stimuli enhanced the effects of the stress management program. These results indicate the usefulness of the measures in assessing these variables

  • Behavioral Science of Formation and Functions of Pseudoscientific Beliefs

    Six studies were conducted to examine physiological, cognitive, behavioral and social mechanisms of formation and functions of pseudoscientific beliefs, and utility of scientific education for change of the beliefs.Study 1 revealed that people has general preference of number selection. It was suggested that the preference is formed through communication in social interaction and that this preference of number selection is one primitive type of superstition.Study 2 aimed to investigate the relationships between hypnagogic imagery and EEG stages. Results of this study showed that the hypnagogic imageries changed from waking daydreams to hypnagogic imageries or NREM sleep dreams as a function of progress of hypnagogic EEG stages.Study 3 investigated the effects of personal factors on the paranormal beliefs. Results revealed that beliefs in existence of ghost and reincarnation and superstition were mainly effected by external attribution, and that level of anxiety affected only beliefs in existences of undefined creatures and cultures.The purpose of study 4 was to examine effects of social-psychological factors on formation of paranormal belief. Results showed that strength of paranormal belief were positively associated with the acceptance of the phenomena in the interpersonal communication. Beliefs in supernatural power, ghost and reincarnation were also associated with attitude toward science and spirituality.In study 5, using a longitudinal design, the effect of scientific education on change of paranormal beliefs in kanashibari phenomenon was investigated. Results showed that (1) personal experience of kanashibari was associated with paranormal belief in and desire for scientific clarification of this phenomenon, and (2) scientific education on kanashibari phenomenon had effect on perceived importance of scientific clarification on the phenomenon.Study 6 investigated the relationship between the pseudoscientific beliefs in latent functions of the brain and the need for cognitive closure. People high in need for closure perceived higher possibility of scientific clarification on paranormal function of the brain than did people low an cognitive closure. But scientific education on functions of the brain weakened the relationship between the need for closure and pseudoscientific belief in the brain

  • 嗜癖の問題における「刺激」と「行動」の結びつきを測定する潜在的指標の開発

     View Summary

    This study sought to empirically examine the maintenance mechanism of those who repeat stealing behavior from the viewpoint of the strength of the connection between stimulus and behavior – as based on findings from the field of behavioral science. We created a cognitive task to measure the connection between the stimulus which evokes stealing and the stealing behavior, and conducted an experiment on seven patients with kleptomania and 43 university students. As a result of the data analysis, the stronger the connection between the stimulus and the stealing behavior, the weaker the degree of reformative self-control among the student group. On the other hand, in the patient group, the completion rate of cognitive tasks was low, making it difficult to compare it with the student group. Therefore, as a result of an examination which included the data of those who did not complete the tasks, those with strong connection may have less self-control and may be affected by a higher degree of severity. The results of this study suggest that those who have stronger connections between stimulus evoking stealing and stealing behavior have a tendency of selecting the stealing behavior.

  • アルコール関連刺激への注意バイアスと生活の質の程度が行動選択に及ぼす影響

    This study examined the differences in state images based on thefunction of drinking behavior from the viewpoint of the interaction between theindividual (attentional bias) and the environment (quality of life) in order todetermine its effects on behavior. It was found that the attentional bias foralcohol stimulation is impulsive drinking. The participants included 12patients with alcohol use disorders and 46 university and graduate students.Attentional bias, quality of life, function of drinking behavior, impulsivebehavior, and risk of re-drinking were used as indices. Data analysis indicateda classification of the state images based on the function of drinking behaviorinto positive-negative low groups, positive enhanced superiority groups, andpositive-negative high groups. Only in the positive–negative high groups were moderatecorrelations observed between attentional bias, quality of life, and impulsivedrinking behavior. The results of this study suggest that not only improvementsin quality of life but also reductions in attention bias may be effective inreducing impulsive drinking behavior in both the positive and negative groups.In the future, it will be necessary to attend more closely to the severity ofthe disease.

  • セルフ・コンパッションの程度が職場環境における機能的コーピングの選択に及ぼす影響

    Morimoto and Shimada (2015) suggest that it is important to expand a coping repertoire and appraisal of coping acceptability in the workplace context in implementing cognitive behavior stress management therapy. Those who have low self-compassion (SC), which is being kind and considerate to one’s self, can lean on coping time and again, which can lower their job performance and activate their stress response. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the effect of a coping repertoire, extent to which workplace context is taken into account, and SC on employees’ stress response and job performance. Six hundred full-time employees participated in the survey. Questions were posed to participants using the following surveys: (a)SC; (b)coping repertoire; (c)the work performance; (d)stress response; and (e)appraisal of coping acceptability in workplace context. The method was approved by the local ethical committee. As a result, it was indicated that those with higher SC and higher appraisal of coping acceptability in workplace context had relatively low stress responses. Additionally, it was also indicated that regardless of SC, both higher coping repertoire and higher appraisal of coping acceptability in workplace context positively contribute to job performance. This study shows that selecting a coping strategy appropriate to the workplace context can improve job performance and lower the stress response for those with higher SC. Therefore, based on these two results, this study indicates that employees’ stress management, stress response and job performance can be improved by not only encouraging the selection of a coping strategy that is appropriate to the workplace context, but also by raising self-compassion. The results of this study suggest that the degree of SC might be an individual factor affecting how stress response and job performance are expressed. Therefore, in future practice, we should adopt some practices that can enhance self-compassion.

  • 職場ストレスマネジメント実践における「努力-報酬不均衡モデル」活用の効果検討

     本研究では,認知行動療法に基づいたストレスマネジメントプログラムを職場に特異的な問題(努力−報酬不均衡状態;Effort-Reward Imbalance;以下,ERIとする)に焦点化することによる効果を検討することを目的とした。研究参加者は,20歳以上の勤労者計40名であった。参加者は,これまでの介入を実施する「標準群」と,ERIの改善に焦点を当てた介入を実施する「追加群」に割りつけられた。効果測定にあたっては,ERI,心理的ストレス反応の主観評価に加えて,起床時コルチゾール反応を指標として用いた。データ解析の結果,ERI,および心理的ストレス反応に対しては,追加群において大きな改善が見受けられた。一方で,起床時コルチゾール反応に関しては,介入に伴う改善は確認できなかった。

  • 勤続行動の機能を踏まえた文脈の評価に着目したストレスマネジメント介入の効果検討

    The present study investigated the effectof a stress-management program focusing on the appraisals of copingacceptability in the workplace context, considering individual differences in reinforcementsensitivity. Fifty-five employees from five workplaces participated in thestudy. The data of the final sample, which consisted of a group of usualstress-management (N = 17) and a group of stress-management focusing on theappraisals of coping acceptability (N = 10), was subjected to the analysis. Theeffect of the stress-management focusing on the appraisals of copingacceptability differed depending on individual levels of novelty-seeking, whichis a tendency to prefer novel stimuli and rewards. In particular, while stressresponse significantly decreased in individuals with a low-level ofnovelty-seeking, stress response significantly increased in individuals with ahigh-level of novelty-seeking. The effect of the usual stress management wasnot observed, regardless of the individual levels of reinforcement sensitivity.These results suggest that stress-management focusing on the appraisals ofcoping acceptability is not uniformly effective; thus, assessment of individualdifferences in reinforcement sensitivity is essential when we apply the programin workplaces.
