    The results of this study are, first, to collect data on about 3300 manuscripts from a database of Arabic manuscripts in the Suleymaniye Library mainly collected from various areas under the rule of the Ottoman dynasty, to grasp the volume of theological books written in Arabic and to present them in quantitative commentaries and manuscripts based on the data, which were then presented to Islamic society in pre-modern times. Second, it identified the manuscript containing "the theory of Imama" which is one of the central subjects in the study of Islamic political thought, and identified the situation.

    昨年度に引き続き、ジャービル・ブン・ハイヤーンに帰される『探求の書』を収めたアラビア語写本の読解に取り組み、内容理解を深める場として、『探求の書』読書会を毎月開催した。
    『探求の書』第1章には、質料と形相の何であるかが記されている。その中身は基本的にアリストテレスの質料形相論を踏襲しているが、「形相すなわち運動」とする独自の形相論も展開されている。この特異な形相論の源泉は、『探求の書』第6章に見出された。
    第6章には、アフロディシアスのアレクサンドロスの著作を引用した箇所がある。引用の出典は「アレクサンドロスの論文」とだけ記され、その原典はこれまで特定されずにいた。しかしこの度、「形相が質料の内にいかにしてあるか」を主題とする箇所で引用されている「論文」が、アレクサンドロス『問題集』第1巻第17問のアラビア語訳である可能性に行き着いた。続いて、「運動の何であるか」を論じた箇所で引用される「論文」がD8と一致することを確認し（D8とは、[Dietrich (1964)] がアレクサンドロスのアラビア語作品に付した整理番号で8番目の作品を指す）、さらにD8が『問題集』第1巻第21問（＝1.21）のアラビア語訳であると判断するに至った。ところが、1.21のアラビア語訳としては、既に別の作品D2が認知されている。D8とD2は異なる作品として数えられているものの、訳語の違いが見かけ上の差異をもたらしているだけであり、両者は同じ原典を持つ作品であると理解できる。特にD8では、1.21の内容理解において決定的な意味を持つ一文が誤訳されており、それが本来1.21には見出されない「形相すなわち運動」という思想を、D8の内に生み出す契機となっていた。
    以上の内容を口頭発表にて報告し、また、関連するアラビア語写本資料を求め、3月にはイランのテヘラン大学図書館、議会図書館にて写本データの収集を行った。
