    　概要を見る

    本年度は, 大きさ知覚の時空間的特性に関する研究について, （1）大きさ知覚における時間特性, （2）大きさ知覚における周辺情報の処理レベルについて検討を行った。
    （1）大きさ知覚における時間特性
    大きさ知覚における時間特性を調べるため, 大きさ知覚における幾何学錯視のエビングハウス錯視を用い, 周辺の円と中心の円の呈示タイミングを操作した実験を行った。エビングハウス錯視は, 同時に呈示した場合に, 中心の円が周辺の円とは対照的な方向に知覚的なバイアスが生じることで知られている（対比効果）。同時に呈示した場合と同様に, 周辺の円が中心の円を先行する場合には, 対比効果が観察された。一方で, 周辺の円が中心の円に後続する場合には, 中心の円が周辺の円に類似する方向に知覚的なバイアスが生じていた（同化効果）。つまり, 周辺の円と中心の円の呈示順序によって, 同じ刺激を用いても, 対照的な効果が生じることがわかった。
    （2）大きさ知覚の周辺情報の処理レベル
    大きさ知覚を変調する周辺情報の処理レベルを調べるため, 短時間呈示された刺激が遅れて知覚されるフラッシュラグ効果を用い, 周辺の円の知覚的な大きさと網膜上での大きさを乖離して呈示する実験を行った。エビングハウス錯視の周辺の円の大きさを徐々に変化させ, 様々なタイミングで中心の円を呈示したところ, 中心の円が知覚されるタイミングは200ミリ秒遅れていることがわかった（フラッシュラグ効果）。それぞれのタイミングでのエビングハウス錯視を調べると, 網膜上での大きさが同じで知覚的に違う大きさであると判断されているタイミングでは錯視が確認されなかった。一方, 網膜上での大きさが異なっていて知覚的に同じ大きさであると判断されているタイミングでは錯視が確認された。つまり, エビングハウス錯視は周辺の円の網膜上の大きさによって生じている。
