    <title>Abstract</title>This study quantitatively estimates the impacts of the partial privatization of Japanese national universities (as implemented in 2004) on research performance outcomes, which are aggregated and disaggregated across research fields. Japanese private universities can be viewed as counterfactuals not targeted by the reform for the same period, which provides within-country variations in this governance/managerial change. Difference-in-differences estimation strategies using private universities as control groups show that the partial privatization of national universities has resulted in a deterioration in the quality and quantity of national universities’ research output, as constructed using publication records from 1999 to 2009. The study then estimates the effects of partial privatization disaggregated by research field and finds that only medical science is negatively affected by the partial privatization. This study is the first to provide a quantitative assessment of whether the partial privatization of Japanese universities has been favorable for research performance using an identification strategy based on a quasi-experiment. It also reveals the heterogeneous impacts across research fields and departments.

    DeLoeckerらによって考案された企業レベルのマークアップを推定する手法について考案した。その際に生産関数の推定が必要となるが、既存の生産関数推定手法では生産関数の形状についての仮定や、競争状態についての仮定（基本的には完全競争が想定されている）をおかなくてはならない。しかし実際には既存研究で提案されている方法では、生産関数を推定し切る必要はなく、中間投入材の弾力性だけを求めれば良い。そこで本研究では、中間投入材の弾力性のノンパラメトリックバウンドを求め、企業レベルのマークアップのバウンドを求めた。

  • 転職者のキャリアシミュレーション分析

    労働者が転職市場を通じて、どのようにすれば効率的な熟練形成をできるようになるか研究を行った。第一に、労働者のキャリア予測についてのプログラムを作成した。労働者が将来を視野に入れてキャリア選択を行うモデルを数値演算的に解いて、その解をもとに様々なシナリオでの労働者のキャリアの疑似データを数値演算的に発生させ、そのデータを元にキャリアアドバイスを行うための定量的検証を行った。第二に、企業と転職者との効率的なマッチングのプロセスについて考察した。近年は求人側の選好に寄り沿った最適化が主流であるが、求職者と求人側の双方の選好を考慮したマーケットの最適化のため、DAアルゴリズムによって効率性を高めうることを検証した。以上を元に某企業と議論し、今後は中高齢者の転職活動を焦点とすべきと有益なフィードバックをいただき、継続的に議論、研究を行っている。
